I made a post like this before, and am now going to try at it again, but this time taking the advice of the members of this board.

I am going to be auctioning off a couple Famicom pirates. The auction will work as follows.

Super Mario World - $15 for 1 ticket. $20 for 2. $25 for 3. $30 for 5
Somari - $10 for 1 ticket. $15 for 2, $20 for 3. $25 for 5
Super Mario Bros 2j - $10 for 1 ticket. $15 for 2. $20 for 3. $25 for 5

Money will be payed through paypal at the time of the purchase. What this means is if you would like to buy a ticket or 2, or as many as you like, you will need to be able to send payment before your tickets count.

I would like to let this auction run for a couple weeks, but if, there is no real interest I would probably cut it off at a week.

As far as shipping goes, Anywhere in Canada and the USA will be free shipping, and any international shipping will be $5 extra which would be payed for if you are the winner, after the auction has ended.

As people purchase tickets, their name will be added to a list which will be updated in the first post. As there are 3 games being offered at different prices for the tickets, please state which game or games you are going to be buying tickets for to help minimize confusion.

I think that is about it. If there are any questions, please feel free to ask. Also, if you have any comments or suggestions please feel free to state those too.

I have bought and sold to and from a few members of this board, so I would like to think I can be trusted.

This isn't a silent auction, this is a raffle.

I realise it is a raffle. Origionally I was going to say that any and all tickets purchased would remain anonymous until the winner was picked, but then I changed it to show the tickets, but forgot to change the rest to reflect the change.

As far as just selling the games, there are a few benefits to raffling.

1. Cheaper for the buyer.
2. Potentially more profits for me. :P
3. It's more fun this way, haha. :P

If people want to buy the carts instead, Just shoot an offer I guess. Don't lowball me though. I know what they are worth, and chances are I won't go out of my way to give you an amazing deal.

A few problems (more insight):

1. Raffles work only when you sells tickets cheap (compared to what the winner will get). I mentioned this before. So, this might only work with $3 "tickets" or something low.

2. I don't know that there are enough members on here to make it work; most auction items are generic to attract more people -- Famicom is very specific, only the (wonderful) few are interested. This means you're less likely to find enough buyers to make a low ticket price worth it to you.

3. People usually buy into raffles because the money will go to charity; people see it as a worthy cause.

4. Raffles can't be legitimate unless there's some way to demonstrate that the tickets are equal and the selection of the winning ticket cannot be rigged. Otherwise, people hesitate.

Those are my concerns.

These are all valid points. Well if there are people who are still possibly wanting to buy these, you can still shoot an offer.

Do you still have Mario World? I'd be willing to give you a price if my bro will let me. I've not got much to spend :P
Sorry folks.
