If so, how long have you been programming, and what language(s) do you know?

I took Visual Basic a couple of years ago, but I never really learned up. I made a side scrolling game once,(Well side scrolling in the sense that you could walk left and right. The screen didn't scroll) There were boxes and stuff you could jump on, and little monsters followed you around on the ground. It wasn't very good, haha. :P

Man...... speaking of highschool.......

U are studing something a bout software.... RIGHT?.?.?

you wanna work in NINTENDO or MICROSOFT.... RIGHT?????

I learned BASIC on the Atari computers, also took QBASIC and Visual Basic at school. Mainly used to control motors and similar devices through the parallel port (I'm more like a hardware/electronics person than a software one).
I've done some Flash games too, nothing too special. A few scrolling demos and the like.

I always like to quote this Benjamin Heckendorn pic when talking about my programming skills ;D

You would have do very good in school to be able to work a decent job at either, I would think.

Also, Google is a pretty good place to work, I've heard.

I'm a freshman right now taking a class that teaches VB 6.0.  This is my first experience having anything to do with programming and so far I like it.

That's pretty cool that you made a side scrolling game.  I wish I knew where to start when it came to utilizing sprites.  You see our teacher was pregnant and left on maturnity leave before the last marking period, leaving us with no information on making a game.  She did leave the sub with a packet that was basically a lab manual on how to make a simulated slot machine.  But it still doesn't help the fact that all we did all semester was make simple calculating programs that calculated grades and such.  We got to using arrays (which still confuses me) and I can utilize if statements and process information from text documents made in Notepad.

I do plan to work in this field when I get older, of course a little more broad of a field in case I don't like programming in the long run.  Nintendo and Microsoft are both located around a college I want to go to in Washington D.C.  It's called Digipen and you can see there ads in Nintendo Power.

Do I want to work for those companies?  No, for one Washington is boring and Nintendo doesn't know what there doing.  I do want to move to New York City which is a very exciting place and work for Sony since I can pretty much make programs for anything from cameras to TVs since they make all of those.

I write software for a living  ;D

I'm most proficient in Java and PHP, but I've used a whole bunch of other languages.  I started coding stuff late in high school (11th or 12th grade, thereabouts).

Flash1087

I'm taking some Computer Science courses currently, nothing too involved. A lot of Visual Basic and Java, eventually I'll be moving to Python and C++ in a semester or two.

FamicomFreak

I only know a little of html and C++. I want to learn more stuff though but right now I'm so busy with work it's crazy!

I'm starting to make a Simon Says game so maybe I'll post it here for download after I'm done.

I'm programming it in Visual Basic 6.0.  I'll see if I can compile it for Mac.

I just got VB on my home comp also so me and my friends are making uber games over the summer.  Resident Evil VB anyone?
