Nope, this:

HUEG IMAEG

Heh. My dad buys those from the University for like $80, Cleans them, fixes them, installs Leopard, and then sells them for a bunch more.

This thread reminds me of when a new member, who was 16, posted a thread on the main forum I use. He wanted to get a NES with all the classics like Super Mario etc but he just couldn't get his head around the idea of having to play the entire game from start to finish in one sitting. He thought we were putting him on when we told him you can't save games (generally) on old machines or that if you lost all your lives it was GAME OVER. I'm only 25 but it made me feel pretty old knowing a time before games led you by the hand and let you save and all that stuff  :D

MaxXimus

Saving is a great thing, but I try not to use it if I don't have to. I played through Resident Evil 1 for the PSX without saving. It was all in one sitting too.

when i was a younger, we always played games in one sit.
10 hours of nintendo!

Intergalactic cat says: Is this planet Earth?

I had friends who used to pause the game and leave it running all night with the TV switched off so they could carry on the next day after school... I was always too afraid of burning something out or causing a fire. I was also good enough not to need to do that ;)

Har the cat

YEAH! i know that. i had one friend who was that crazy.. :D

I used to do that if I was in the middle of something, and had to leave for some reason. :P

My first SNES had the quirk that it erased the saves from every game! :o. Pop any game with a battery save into it and it'd get wiped! So me & my dad used to leave it on 24/7 for days, even weeks, to avoid losing our progress in the games. It mysteriously cured itself years later, and we stopped doing it. Needless to say, it didn't even get warm to the touch, nor did our electricity bills skyrocket :P.

Makes me think of fond memories. I remember the first time I played Crystalis (God Slayer: Haruka Tenkū no Sonata), I completed it in one stting. Even though that game had a save feature, which I used it quite frequently, I couldn't put the controller down. Thank you SNK. :)

Every time I play Metal Slug X, I HAVE to beat it! I can't let the controller down until I beat it ;D

Did you guys got the GIFT??????

if you did put some screen-shots!!!!!!!!!

NOTE:(Only for Maximus) : if you can't use on MAC.... then use your school computer!!!!!

MaxXimus

Ummm... Why would you want to see pictures of roms you emailed us running in emulators? Also, no, I will not use the school computers to run any games of any kind. Doing that is against school policy, and I am not about to lose my right.
