Your favorite Rockman game?

I personally I have played only Rockman 1,2 and 3 and I think that Rockman 2 is the best of them !

megaman 4 in my opinion, its difficulty is perfect and the music is awesome, especially with the stage select screen. And ofcourse the intro that rock stands on the train. Defenitley the best part.
and for the gameboy i like V...

I like 1-3 but my fav is 2!  IMO it has the best level design, characters & music.  Remember the first time you got chased by the dragon?

Rockman 4 by far is the superior game in the classic series, though I'll admit I've only ever played the Famicom / NES titles, none of the later systems.

I'm going with the first one for a few reasons:

1. Well, it's the first.

2. Point system.

3. 'Realistic' idea behind the plot.

4. No ridiculous looking, 'big' enemies.

5. Difficult.

Most people don't think about that stuff, you see Hot Dog in number two and you think AWSUM.  But it doesn't make any sense.  Wood Man?  Why?  The original idea of the first game was Dr. Light makes the robots to help with contruction and such throughout the world.  Iceman was to work in cold climates, Fireman with fire and so forth.  Wood Man?  Why does he beat his chest?  The games looked cool after the first one, but the original was the only game where they tried to make the idea somewhat intelligent.  The only problem I had with it was a lack of a password feature and the amount of life some of the weapons took off of bosses.

Sorry for bumping but I have a comment on that. If i' m not mistaken the plot for megaman 2 was that Wily builds his own robots. Why wood man then you might ask? Cause that allows for sweet ass taking over the world with awesome weapons ;-)

because the question was: Of the games in the classic series, which game is your absolute favorite?

Rockman X is its own series. I could ask which is your favorite in the Rockman X games, but that wouldn't be part of the Famicom board as those are all SFC/SAT/PS1/PS2 games.
