Do you collect NES...and Famicom?

I'm curious how many people here collect both.

I've played both for a long time, but I'm thinking of giving up on NES and focusing on Famicom, selling my NES stuff except for the NES-exclusives I've got (nd maybe buying NES-exclusives in the future). I realize some games have differences, but aren't the Famicom versions typically better and harder?

I was just beginning to collect NES stuff when I ran across a famiclone at a Goodwill store. After finding out about all the cool stuff that was only available for the Famicom (mostly from this site), I slowed my NES collecting a lot until it eventually came to a halt. My Famicom collection is WAY bigger than my NES collection, although I have many more NES controllers than Famicom controllers.

I find that I end up playing my NES games very little and when I do, I play them on one of my Famicom's with a converter and sometimes Game Genie. I've found that a lot of Famicom games work with the NES Game Genie with the same codes.

For some reason, I do prefer the NES controller, though. Probably since it's the one I am familiar with from childhood.

I plan on keeping my NES stuff but only accrue things that are interesting or that I played as a kid.

I have a pretty big nes collection ( mostly all loose carts.) I only have a few famicom games though; mainly disk too  :) I am however looking to expand my famicom collection! My biggest game collection
FC HVC-001 HC4593710 CPU-GPM-02 1989
FDS HVC-022 D1072158 FD7201P 6602 + new belt!
My FF setup!

I collect Famicom and NES equally but lately I have been collecting Famicom more. I do have way more NES stuff than Famicom in terms of accessories since I find them pretty much everywhere when I go to the flea market. I'm starting to think that I may be stopping famicom collecting for a while and focus more on my NES collection.

I used to collect both, up until about a year and a half ago.  Then I took all my NES stuff into a Austin game store called Game Over Games and got rid of them, along with my Genesis stuff and a few LCD games.  But here I am now wanting to play stuff like Jackal or Rush 'N Attack and don't particularly want to have those games on a FDS, having to wait... and I understand the NES versions were a bit tweaked... Soooo, looks like they'll be the occassional title I'll purchase/collect for NES to be played on the Famicom via adaptor.  But for the most part I prefer having all straight up Famicom.  Kind of miffed to learn that there was indeed a "Dirty Pair" and GAL-FORCE game on Famicom but only on FDS.  So I'll probably end up with an FDS before long too.

I started collecting NES stuff mainly for the blog I've been doing (see my sig) but after a while I was really tempted to get a Famicom just to see what some of the games would be like from Japan. My main interest being in games that used the sound chip.

I won't sell my NES games, but I also won't actively collect more.
I like both of course. They're basically the same.

I collect both, but I try to get only the games I'll actually play.

Its only been a few days since I posted about why I started collecting but I've been really surprised with the Famicom. The range of different games in comparison to the NES is astounding. It seems like a whole new world over in Japan.

I collect both almost about equally. Overall I have way more NES stuff. I've been collecting NES games longer, and it's easier to just grab a bunch of NES games for cheap at thrift stores etc. But I love the small size of the Famicom carts and console, the NES is huge in comparison. I just wish the famicom had longer controller cords like the NES.

I've been collecting NES stuff long before I finally got a Famicom. I have quite a few gems in my collection too.  ;D

I collect NES games.  I have a respectable number of Famicom games, but not really enough to say I "collect" them.

I think collecting doesn't have so much to do with numbers.
If you keep stuff you like it's collecting.  :)
