Is anyone familiar with something called the Peerless Pass Controller by Supervision? It looks exactly like the FDS RAM adaptor and connects the same. The only differences are that it doesn't take power and it has a slot on top where a game can be inserted. I can't figure out what it does.

Picture? Maybe it works just like a Famicom Disk System RAM adapter, but you don't have to take out the RAM adapter to play a cartridge game.

Well, it doesn't have a cord to connect to the FDS -- it's got nothing other than what connects to the Famicom.

Can we see a pic to get a better idea?  Maybe it's some sort of flashing device?

Nope. Different. (None of those quite look like RAM adaptors.) I'll post a pic or two later.

EDIT:

UglyJoe

Looks like some kind of pass-through device.  I'm not sure why you'd need a pass-through for a FC, though (since there's no copy-protection in the hardware).  Maybe it's like a big Game Genie or something.  Purely speculation, though.

133MHz

Two EPROMs, one 2 KB RAM chip, and a custom Supervision chip.
Does it display something when plugged into a Famicom?

If you would consider selling / trading this, I would be very interested in getting it from you.

Although I do not have one of these, I have a few speculations perhaps what it is about, I will send you a PM in a bit.

On the outside it looks like a Paradise adapter. This photo makes me think it's a cheat device.

For reference, Chinese text here reads (with google translate):
Breaking the invincible card
[Supervision logo]
Shengye Enterprise Co., Ltd.
Taipei City
1st Floor, No. 61, Lane 1, 2nd Lane, Section 3, Chongqing North Road
Telephone 5928831

The catch line suggests this is a cheat device.

I have two devices of similar appearance.  One is the Paradise, which plays the special "cartridges" that contain data from Famicom Disk games.  The other device I have allows one to run bootleg disks on the Famicom disk system, and also possibly copies games, though I never was interested much in playing around with stuff like that, as I just don't know enough about it / have the need.

I just bought this Peerless Pass Controller, when it arrives, I suppose I can do some more tests and report back on my findings (or lack of)
