Have you guys heard the rumor that Megaman 10 will feature co-op play ala new SMB wii? what do you think about that?

Personally, I don't find it all that exciting. Megaman is a single player game. To tack on multiplayer in any way would result in the same kind of thing that the multiplayer is in Metroid Prime 2. It''ll be totally misplaced.

If they added puzzle elements that really required two players it would be cool.  If it was just a "here's a second player" option (like Contra) then it won't be as good.  Still, if Contra can be awesome with two players, I don't see why Megaman couldn't be.

MarioMania

I like how Fighting Fourm's like SRK & 8wayrun slam this game because it's 8bit

I'm getting this on the PS3

Well, they have a point.  King of Fighters XII is 2d, but features hand-drawn HD sprites.  8-bit style graphics are nice and all, but it can also be seen as lazy.  They could have made MM9 with beautiful hi-res sprites and kept the same exact gameplay.

8-bit consoles had 8-bit style graphics because they were unable to do any better.  Modern consoles don't have those limitations.  Why downgrade the concept art to pixels when you could use the concept art itself, you know?

There is style and beauty in 8-bit pixel art.  RM9 and RM10 are not a reinvention of Megaman, they're a celebration of those classic games.  It makes perfect sense for them to follow suit.  I think it's much better to do something concise and focussed very well that turn it into a big big project with lots of cost and risk associated.  RM9 cost Capcom little compared to something like Street Fighter 3 even.  There's plenty of reasons, plus it turned out popular so a further sequel is pretty much a given.

The very thread on here highlights that out of all of them most people hail Rockman 2 as the best game out of any of them.  I like 8 best but only because it reminds me of Capcom's CPS2 games.  It wouldn't want RM10 to be as visually flourished like Muramasa is for example.

Besides, if you embellish it with such nice looking art, it kinda makes it hard to keep the gameplay in that same simple but very well made manner.

Ignore fools on SRK - that's total hypocrisy considering 99% of them moaned when they saw SF4 was 3D.

大事なのは、オチに至るまでの積み重ねなのです。

MarioMania

Mega Man is born 8 bit..he started on the NES..

I never liked the updated MM7 on the Super NES, even know it was 1995..

Capcom should of made it for the NES

Wow that's a bad idea. I don't think it would work out at all especially since MM10 will have the limited capacity a NES game should have and would probably end up making the graphics disappear like in some other co-op games. I mean if you put two mega mans together in one screen they can shoot three mega busters each, then the monsters can shoot bullets at you too. Wouldn't that make the screen go nuts? Anyways, I don't know much about the hardware of 8bit games but I assume it would happen, then again MM10 is not coming out for the NES and I don't know what the capability is to have it released in the VC.
