Just bought a japanese famicom and i live in the UK, i cant get it to work on my TV, is there anyway i can, Would it ork if i had a NTSC compatible TV in the UK? If so what channel would i put it on?

If anyone knows anything i'd be happy to know, also a link to how to AV mod the famicom would be nice.
THANKS!

Mine works on a 60 hz CRT via AV mode.  I've never tried an RF one though I'm afraid.

60 hz, hows that we are 5- hz i thought? Also do you have an av modded famicom?

racso8

So will the RF work on a tv that supports 60hz? if so id there a channel or frequency it works on?

That sucks.  I'm thinking of selling my AV mod famicom if that is another option.  It's clean and tidy.

Is it an official japanese version, if so ill trade it for a normal official japanese famicom?

racso8

do AV famicoms allow you to play the famicom on PAL TVs?

racso8

So if i have a non AV cable Famicom, i would only need a converter to play it perfectly on my PAL TV?

All japanese Famicoms, either AV or RF version, are designed for NTSC TV system. You can't get it to work with PAL TV system. You should get one of those Pegasus consoles. Those are PAL.
