R4 Action Replay Codes

I'm trying to get New Super Mario Bros. Codes to work on the R4

I have the Game Code in the cheat data base already

I have

usrcheat.dat in the DS games file, Do I need anything else to get it working

it's the 1.18 firmware

I don't have a clue about the R4's interface as I own a CycloDS. If the cheat system is any similar, just get the latest file and put it in the proper directory where cheats are stored (since one user database covers most, if not all games) and enable the codes you want.

Flash it with the M3 Simply firmware. The R4 shares the same hardware, but the M3 is better supported and is easier to add cheats to. All you need to do is re-format your card and install the M3 software.

Wow, if an R4 can take M3 software, then definitely do that.

From my understanding, the R4 is actually a copied [read: stolen] design of the M3 Simply that simply uses a modified version of the M3 firmware. To everyone who was looking to buy flashcards for the DS or DS Lite in the last few years, I've always told them to avoid buying an R4 and get the M3 instead.

But yeah, even if you did go with an R4, you can just as easily rid yourself of its firmware by installing the M3 firmware in its place.

The two interfaces are nearly identical. You'll see exactly what the R4 ripped of and what they didn't implement.

Then follow our advice and don't use gimped and modified interface.

I did a lot of research into this and even when I was looking into it in the first place, one thing was certain: the R4, although the most common and often cheapest, is the one card that usually had the most user reported problems and issues.

In retrospect, I'm glad I got the card I did. Easy to update, easy to add cheats, lots of developer support, in game text reader, and save state capability.

Will the M3 AR codes, do you have to format??

I just want the Action Replay Codes on the R4

My nephew has it on his R4..he was showing me cheats on New Super Mario Bros.

And in the R4's defense, I've never had a problem with mine.

I want to find it on Google on my own, But it's talking me on a 360 ride..I just want to know how to load it in the R4, like what folder do I need to put the usercheat.dat...

Do I have to download something???

I still suggest you get rid of the R4 firmware and replace it with the M3 Simply firmware. They are identical in all but name. Same features that use the same icons. games that don't work correctly on the R4 work fine on M3.
