Hi everyone (or everybody).

From the last few days the design of Google is like Bing's it's not bad but the classic design is so nice and there's no need to upgrade.

Well, the same thing can be said about YouTube. ::)

nensondubois

I feel the exact same about both.

Never tried bing, but because it isn't google, I automatically don't like it.  :P

Yeah.  Search engines that aren't Google just need to quit right now.  Yeah, they'll make a quick buck, but there's no way Google's getting off of it's multi-million dollar pedestal.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

Well, there's Baidu, which is killing Google in Chinese language searches.

Now people take a look at what Google and Bing look like.

This is Bing:

And this is Google:

Ugh -.-" I don't know who came up with the idea of editing the visual of Google. But Google has proven that their designers are awful, the proof is this and how's YouTube now.

Yes, the new design is utter crap. The site isn't as usable as it was before.
Why on earth do big companies always have to redesign their good and well-functioning stuff?  >:(

Where did you get those screenshots?  When I search for South Park neither site looks like either of those.

It does for me. I don't usually complain about interface changes like that, but messing with a simple and straightforward design will result in loads of negative reactions, especially when it starts to look like M$.

UglyJoe @ with those small web-site screens they're from a Firefox plugin I use and the green circle it's MyWot.

Hmm, they look like this for me:

I mean, yeah, Google added a left sidebar.  It's similar to how Bing is laid out but, seriously, people complain "it looks like Bing" as if Bing was the first and only site to ever have a left sidebar.  And Bing isn't even a bad search engine!  It's not like Google looks like MSN.com or anything.

Google's sidebar is also cleaner and still blue/black on white.  It's still minimalist.  Upon examination it's actually quite a bit different from the Bing sidebar.  Bing offers alternate search queries.  Google offers ways of filtering out your results by date, location, and content.

I can understand the outrage about the Youtube layout changes because it seems like change for the sake of change.  The Google sidebar is adding features without breaking old ones.  And you can turn it off.  I don't understand the outrage at all.

The thing is, we are all happy with the interface that Google/YouTube had.

I enjoyed a lot the basic classic design of Google, it was great!

I wish that sidebar could be turned off.

If you use a searchbar or a keyword search, you point them to:

http://www.google.com/#hl=all&q=%s

and that will show the results without the sidebar.

Thanks! That's great but I just can't change on my Firefox Google engine but I can live with that.

It's better than before and looks like it runs faster on my PC.

There's also some user scripts to get rid of it if you use the Greasemonkey extension:
