Can someone here help me with a small project? When I was taking screenshots for my Megaman 4 review, I sort of fell in love with the font used for the "get weapon" screen. I've ripped every letter used by the font in the game, but it omits the lesser used letters of Q, X and Z. I want the complete font for future sprite projects as I happen to really like this font.

If anyone here is up to the challenge, I'm looking for someone who can create these letters using the small sprite style as the rest of the letters.

For ease of use, I've already compiled them into a .png and left space for the missing letters. Opening it up in even paint and saving it as a .png is fine. The sprite size limit is 7 pixels high and 6 pixels wide.

Thanks!

I can take a crack at it. I will work on the missing letters tomorrow when I get back into the office. It's been pretty show around here lately...

UglyJoe

Here's the whole font straight from the rom.  You'll have to do the color correction yourself.

Oh wow Uglyjoe! Thank you!!! So they programmed the entire alphabet in and the missing letters remain as unused sprites? That's pretty awesome. Once again, thanks!

Thanks guys! I really love this font. I want to use it in a new banner for my blog.

Since I'm going to be updating the banner anyway, do you guys have any suggestions for what I should change the name to? I don't think the current name quite fits, but I can't think of anything that I like better.

i say Video Game Archives... or Video Game Update- something that sounds like an independent chain store that could have existed in the late 80's and early 90's. You know, the kind of place that overpriced their games and had NES carts under glass by the till...

I believe that's actually an OLD font called Data 70, converted to pixels.  Back when green on black monitors were considered cutting edge.

Hmm I like the word Archives. I think I'll use it!

Urgh - the best character I can write by hand, but the worst by digital:

Can anyone else do better?  I didn't have time/patience to study how they decided to place those darker greens on the characters. :-\

Anyway - if it were me, I'd leave Satoshi in the title somewhere - it makes the blog stand out.

Like Satoshi's Contemp. & Retro?

Hey, that spells SCAR!

Don't know if you're still accepting, but this "&" is based off the Data 70 font.

And the numbers.

Also an exclamation mark and question mark just 'cause.

excellent! Thank you so much! I h ate to be a bother, but if you could convert some other special characters as well that would be awesome:

@, #, $, % and a simple period.

I thought that a simple period would be, well, simple enough to for you to make. :P  But here you go.

Unfortunately it seems the original Data 70 font didn't have a "@" or "#" symbol, but luckily I found a computer version of it that had them made up.  They don't fit in a 8x8 tile very well though, but I tried.

These "%" and "$" symbols are more accurate to the original Data 70 font, but obviously they go outside a single 8x8 tile.
