One moar thread from me, moving on.. :mario:

I'd just like to know what's your favourite portable console?

I'm stuck between Game Boy and Game Boy Color, both great systems with great games.

I even bought a GBC game yesterday boxed €5, which is Carl Lewis Athletics 2000, they had more but the prices were just crazy.

Already done my wishlist on Amazon, but getting them boxed probably won't be that low as they seem.

PSP and DS are great too, but GB and GBC are kinda special to me, as I grew up playing these portable systems plus NES and SMD (Mega Drive). Too many "and's" I know. ;D

Sega Nomad is my favorite handheld, of course its not very portable... But its early 1990's 16-bit backlit full color and uses Sega Genesis cartridges.

That's hardly a portable but it is.

I wish I had a Sega Nomad too.

When I was young I mostly played NES and SNES, so I'm not that much attached to Gameboy.
Right now my favorite is the DS, but I think in 3 weeks from today it will be the 3DS. It can also play DS games, so there's no reason why I shouldn't like it more.

I'll go with Gameboy Advance SP.  It was pretty great for its time because it included a backlit screen (finally!), a clamshell design to protect the screen, and backwards compatibility with GB/GBC games.  The d-pad and the buttons felt great and are bigger than the DSLite/DSi hardware, which I think is a good thing.  Just an overall classic design that's capable of playing a very large game library.

i love the way the Neo Geo Pocket/Color feels but i love the streamline design of the PSP 1000
FUCK YEAH SEAKING!

Oh dear... I have a lot of portable consoles I like.

Original GB - the ONLY handheld I can play Tetris on for hours without getting hand cramps!
GBC - My first!  And the only way to Mystery Gift on Pokemon GSC, via the infrared port.
GBA SP w/backlight - Backlight and backwards compatibility with over 1000 games. 'Nuff said!
DS Lite - GBA slot + CycloDS = fun with Pokemon and homebrew and hacking!
Wonderswan Color - Has lots of fun games that stayed as system exclusives, like most of the handheld Digimon games.

PSP - simply for it's emulation abilities.  It got me back into NES/famicom, Game Gear, Master System, Megadrive, Gameboy and GBA gaming.  I hardly use it for PSP or PSX games but I do need to stick Rockman 8 on there at some point.

If that doesn't count, then I'll go with GBA.

The original fat Game Boy, it just has so many great games. I mean Super Mario World 2, Tetris, Pokemon, Link's Awakening, The Megaman series, Kirby's Dreamland, all are incredible games.

Donkey Kong Hockey!  And the other Micro vs. systems released in the Game and Watch series.

Released in 1984 and to date no system has come close to matching its design for 2 player use.

I might have to go with Gameboy Advance SP also.  It's incredibly small, without sacrificing screen size and plays every generation of gameboy game.

Of course, the fool I was, I traded that in .. probably for the DS.  I want it back   :-[

You traded for a DS Lite?

I don't see much point on having a DSi unless it's DSi XL (bigger screens and better).

tappybot

No I think I traded it in for the original DS at launch.  What a stooge I was.
