US Congress Trying to Ban On-Line Services + Legalize Internet Wiretapping

Those of you in the US, it's time to fight back! Normally, I don't go out of my way to share petitions or anything of the sort, but this is simply the kind of madness that needs flocks of people to help fight...

The same lunatics that just renewed the PATRIOT Act are also trying to pass an extension to CALEA (which shouldn't have been passed either), trying to remove your rights... In a nutshell, the extensions would make any Internet service illegal under US Federal Law if Big Brother couldn't easily wire-tap you, and descramble any encryption. This affects telecom services, like Skype, mobile Internet technologies, P2P services, text messaging and the like.  :pow:

If you are a US citizen of legal age to vote, I strongly urge you to connect with your local congressmen and fight this action! If you are a member of DemandProgress.org (I am, and I suggest them for anyone who wants to help protect their liberties), there is an Action to block this bill available here, along with the full write-up on it, and what Big Brother want to do to your rights.

Nobody owns the Internet: Please help stop Internet censorship and evil laws & bills like this... :bomb:

You kidding? I told everyone I know about this except the forums, like I should have. Time to take out the trash who are destroying the 'Land of the free' like a true patriot (did I just say that I'm patriotic? WTF never thought I would, but we are facing desperate measures) We need all the help we can get. Move people, move!  :mario:

Though anyone would have a hell of a time trying to enforce their barrage on our freedoms.

Just in case this happens, how much jail time is 10 pirated movies and three pirated games worth?  :-X

How the heck would they even enforce this?

They'd set up a blocklist covering IP-ranges, domains and ports, then send it to all ISPs and require them to comply.

ISPs and the major telecom companies are all-for this kind of law, as it's a big mo0ney-maker for them...

@ Petik_1: I think it's up to five-years per offense, but it could be ten. That's sixty-five years federal time... I guess if times get too tough to cover my living expenses, I can flog bootlegged films on the street for a nice stretch in the pen.

@nensondubois: Good to know that I'm not alone (here) in fighting this: Thank you for being a shining example of how citiens should behave in this country! The States have enough problems, most of which could've been averted if people fought to protected their rights! :bomb:

...and I thought the UK was turning into a grand nanny state.  I think the US see China's successes but this is not how to copy them...

That's essentially, what's happening. China and the E.U. are influencing ideas here: very socialistic ideas with a big-business-oriented capitalist twist.. I'm still afraid that the UK will cave to EU ideas... I'm stuck wondering where in the world I'd really want to live at this point: Isla de Fuego seems like a good choice at this point...

Everybody is trying to ban everything: It's a sickness, or madness, and is spreading as plague across the globe; what's safe and where is still sane?  :bomb:

I actually nearly said Japan - then remembered it's completely insane in a thousand other ways.

Tell everyone you know the fight back however they can weather it be sneaky or by brute force. Life will be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z0GFRcFm-aY
if we don't do something. What I'm planning I cannot discuss here just so you know, I'm not sitting on my ass letting trounce upon my freedoms.

Even worse is that the government is now trying to arrest people for sharing Youtube videos. Looks like the New World Order is trying to fasten it's foot in the door... something is definitely happening and we cannot let it win.

Got a source on that?
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

Only further proof that not only is everything falling to pieces, but also that George Orwell knew what was happening and sensed it all coming, 62-years ago.

Are there any neutral islands left?  :bomb:

Nah, Aldous Huxley had it right.  You don't get them with fear, you get them with complacency.  Who cares about wiretapping when you can watch Charlie Sheen melt down on TV!

I don't understand how knowing what websites I'm on and what porn I watch is gonna help them find terrorists or whatever they say they're out for.
