Anyone ever work on a hack of Super Mario World in some way? I've been working on and off on one for many years.

Hopefully I'll finish it to 100% completion and perfection one day.

Mario

More screenshots:

SMB3 big clouds!

The timer bonus is now x10 instead of x50 so you can have more time exploring the levels.

Debug level just for fun.

No, it's nothing like those "Kaizo" hacks because I like my Mario game to be playable!  Grin

Looks cool! Now the big question is if it's playable on real hardware?

My older versions are, hopefully this one will, too.

Trying to make the underwater areas more special than just an underground area with water like in the original SMW. Ignore the TMNT2 Pizza Hut sign, that's just a placeholder of some kind.  Crazy

Still working on it 3 years later, I'd probably finish it if I stop screwing around with awesome stuff like this (tribute to a certain quack-i-riffic great Capcom NES game):

Probably! Maybe someone here can try it with one or on a hacked SNES Classic.

This has taken my interest, as I had a brief liking to SMW hacks years ago. From the screenshots you've posted, it looks like a promising one to play Cheesy

Also, I don't know if you have a YouTube account but if you do, videos showing it would be great also. Just a thought Grin

Yep, will add videos soon!

I took it down while I fix some problems I didn't see before so don't play too far into it if you did download it!

I didn't actually, because I hadn't had time to do it. Maybe I will but a video of it would be nice so that I get the feel of it before I actually experience it myself if you don't mind Tongue

Also, I wonder if you could post some screenies of the overworld map because that's one element I took a deep interest in regarding SMW hacks. Oh, and does the hack itself have its own cool name? Wink

Okay, I think everything should work great now, let me know if something doesn't work right. If you try it on a flash cart or SNES Classic, please let me know.

Oh yeah, 48 new music tracks (see included .txt file for game genie codes) and you can save after every level!

Overworld is basically the same except for a new exit where I removed one from another level. I'm really burnt out on this now, so if someone wants to build me an all new overworld, that would be cool  Wink

Video to come.

A few months late (I now have it on cart and it works great!), but:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XPqiENqzFk - Radical Retro Remix

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EOwMxcpjV8Q - Lost Ship Graveyard

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez91hoIN0Nc - Spoilers as it shows how to reach all secret exits, but does show what kinds of songs are included (just don't look at the screen!).

If anyone still wants the ROM patch, feel free to PM me.
