SimCity NES version prototype found!

Hopefully they'll dump it.

Seems like it's using MMC5, because it needs lots of on-cart RAM to store all that city data in.

OMG. PLEASE DUMP IT! I've been hoping for NES SimCity dump for almost 20 years since I learned it exists but is undumped.

Please please let this happen!

A friend of mine showed me this and instantly I was hoping for a dumped ROM. I don't know HOW he got his hands on it but man, if SimCity can be unearthed after all these years, then that holds out a lot of hope for other undumped unreleased games. If this gets dumped, I'm going to try this out SO HARD. I loved the SNES version.

(Side note: I'm hoping and praying someday for a dumped Ace Harding: Lost in Last Vegas)

Is there any crowd effort to get SimCity dumped like there have been in previous years for games like Resident Evil GBC or even Earth Bound?

I'm not so fussed about SimCity myself but I know that there will be fanfare on NA and that's probably the most central place to keep up to date with efforts.  Here's the thread:

I don't buy, sell or trade at moment.
But my question is how hackers at that time were able to hack those games?(c)krzy

The prototype was dumped eventually. Some emulators and flashcarts like the Everdrive that didn't fully support all features of the MMC5 got updated to the point that Sim City runs on them (which consequently made other MMC5 games work on the Everdrive as well).

The prototype was also disassembled, commented and got several missing features (like boats that appears when you build a port) fixed. I'm not sure where this version is though, or if the ROM on archives is the fixed version. In that case I hope the untouched prototype ROM was released as well.

Same reason as with Koei games - huge nametables, lot's of chr's/sprites on screen.
