Going back...-Anybody know how to get aa GB/C/A emulator to work on homebrew channel?

I've followed the instructions, it just can't see the VBA/ROMS somehow. It says there are no roms in it.

There are Four.

It's nice to see Wind Waker clocking in at number two, it really deserves it.

Plus it's a nice slap in the face to all of those people who screamed and moaned about the art style.

nurd

I like the wind waker art :P

manuel

I also love the art style. For me personally it's much more immersing than "real looking" graphics.
I'd love to play a new Zelda or even other great RPG in that art style. You heard that, Nintendo? ;)

son_ov_hades

I personally don't like the art style at all. It looks so cartoonish, and all I can think while playing that game is "Excuuuuse me Princess!"

But at least his hair isn't brown. :P

I see that the Minish Hat is getting no love. I thought it was a pretty decent game that kept up with Zelda traditions while building itself around a gimmick that didn't get old, but actually added to the gameplay...

Minish Cap was fantastic... but I need Ganondorf in my Zelda games. I'm not a fan of these other guys who come in and say they're all big and bad. I'll still play and enjoy their games, but nowhere near as much as a Zelda game with the proper villain in it.

Sometimes its a nice break for a major villain to step down. Castlevania (DS games) have been pretty good about coming up with new baddies, even if Dracula and Death so make the requisite appearances...
Although some villains are just filler as well...not sure where to place the villain from the Minish Cap, though..

The way I see it, the more often Ganondorf is the main villain the better the chance that he'll actually do something really awesome. He hasn't really lived up to that whole "king of evil" title... or at least they never show him doing bad things to justify the fear that people have for him.

Actually that's another gripe... people go on all happy-go-lucky even though the world is falling apart around them. In OoT Ganondorf rides into town, kills the kind, and drives Zelda into hiding. This was all in plain sight too! Everyone in Hyrule Castle Town saw these events transpire, and the only thing any of the townsfolk really say in reference to anything that just happened is one of the juggling brothers mentioning that he almost got stepped on by Ganondorf's horse. I guess I'd have liked it better if the guards were trying to mobilize and people were freaking out and fleeing... you know, like they should be doing.

Or hey, maybe the six guards that were in Hyrule were the only ones smart enough to run away while the brain dead civilians went about their business and got turned into ReDeads.

Excuse my rant. :-[

Well, it was an adequate rant.

~Link To The Past
~Ocarina of Time
~Adventure of Link

...in that order.  To me LTTP did better than what the original did on the Famicom/NES, Ocarina of Time put things into prespective from a 3-D edge, but managed to retain a "gritty" look about it... and Adventure of Link, while taking time to get used to, is different enough to be enjoyable.  The other are all good, though I'm one of those that no matter how good the story was for Wind Waker... I simply couldn't stand the CELDA thing.  To me the three I voted for above (in that order) are the only games that count.  But then, I don't play RPGs or action-adventure RPGs as much as Beat 'Em Ups, Shooters and Run  & Gun Shooters, so my opinion isn't sophisticated at all.
Gaming peaked in the 8-Bit & 16-Bit eras...
all else is just rehashes and insanity passing
itself off as "gaming."

Now I started Zelda late, My first Zelda game was Ocarina of Time. I somehow still have the manual and it's a gold cartridge... dumbluck. I only played that, Majora's Mask, Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures with three other people (its awesome), and Twilight Princess.

My opinion of best zelda game and countdown is based on not having seen or heard much about any of the gameboy/ds games to comment on them.

1. Ocarina of Time
2. A Link to the Past
3. Zelda 1
4. Twilight Princess
5. Zelda 2
6. Majora's Mask
7. Four Swords Adventures
8. Wind Waker

I had a tough time ranking the last three because I knew they weren't great, but they weren't terrible either. What do you think of the countdown?
Now you're playing with Power

1. A Link to the Past-  My first Zelda game...it introduced so many series staples such as the Master Sword, parallel worlds, and awesome dungeons! The sprites were colorful and nicely drawn...the new items were just what the series needed...and I love the story!!!

2. Ocarina of  Time- 3D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  The world of Hyrule felt so huge thanks to the third deminision...the music is legendary...the items are top-notch...and the story was one of the best!

3. Link's Awakening - The first portable Zelda....it was set outside of Hyrule...Zelda was only mentioned once...and Link was on a quest to wake the sumbering Wind Fish.

These are my favorites...but I do enjoy all of the Zelda games!
