While I agree with both of you (I don't really *dig* RPGs), and
still have yet to even get 20 hours into Beggar Prince, at this
point... ANY brand spankin' new game for the 16-Bit Mega Drive
outside of the usual puzzle game is a God Send... at least to me.
And that game actually looks pretty cool. I'll be buying it to toy around
with it for probably 8 hours and never even beat it, but shit... I'll support it.

Yes you are right about support. Projects like these take time and by supporting them you are motivating others or the same group of people to create more projects. Overall, it's great for the retro community.

Yeah I don't like RPGs much at all, but I preordered this because the idea of new Genesis games is something I deem worthy.

I used to agree with supporting things like this but I actually think it's better to just code on PC with game maker or something. Just stick to the 16-bit hardware rules. All it costs is time then.
