Which console by Nintendo do you consider your favorite of all time as of 2009?

Famicom
Super Famicom
N64
Gamecube
Wii

even though this is Famicom World, I've always been more of a Super Famicom guy. The SNES had so many great games, fantastic graphics, a great controller, man everything came together on it. I love the SNES so much that if there were SNES versions of multiplatform games that come out for every console, I'd buy the SNES versions.

Mmm........Fallout 3 SNES in mode 7  ;)

Definitely Sufami/SNES. While I love the fact that the NES/Fami has a bunch of games outside of my preferred genre that I love playing, the SNES has the larger RPG library and I would say the BETTER RPG library, so I'm gonna have to go w/ that. It was a tough call tho. The N64, GC and Wii aren't fit to sweep up after either of those, tho. Shame really.

Super Famicom.
Zelda: ALttP, SMW, F-Zero, DKC 1 and 2, Star Fox, SimCity, Super Mario Kart, Tetris Attack, Super Mario RPG.
It was such an excellent expansion on the ideas of the original Famicom.
N64 had a few marvellous games but was very technologically lacking (textures, RAM, media, etc.) and with a weak controller design.
GC had very few great games- Melee and Viewtiful Joe, as I never liked Wind Waker much- and never had its average hardware potential exploited.
Wii is being misused and misdeveloped for as something of a toy, rather than a video game system. It has Brawl, Twilight Princess, Mario Kart, Galaxy, WarioWare, Virtual Console, and Twilight Hack going for it, however. If we see some more 1st and 3rd party support (*coughzeldawiicoughdraculaxchinorondocough*), it'll be on par with the original Famicom.

Edit: I meant "actual hardware potential"

I decided to vote for N64..since it was my first system.  And I spent countless hours with Mario Kart 64, SM64, Hey You!  Pikachu!, SSB, and others.

I voted Famicom, but I love the SFC just as much. The good GC, Wii and 64 games are like finding diamonds in a giant mound of poo. I'd rather play a system with a ton of classics.

The N64 was the first console that I actually owned (not my parents), so I found it to be a great console growing up... except I bought it late so I got it with Pokemon Stadium.

A good friend of mine who is also a big nintendo fan introduced me to the SNES and it was amazing, especially Earthbound. This game along with the other great games is the reason why I picked the SFC. I wish I was born earlier so I could literally grow up with Nintendo.

For those of you who have, isn't the feeling awesome to say that you grew up Nintendo from the very beginning (in video games, not playing cards).

Funny, but I'm sure there is someone on the forums who has been with Nintendo as a child from the Famicom/NES days that can confirm what I previously said.

I was born in '79 and got my NES in 1985, so I grew up with Nintendo. My original NES still works, although the original ac adapter gave out a few years ago.

There are quite a few on the forums...my brother being one of them ;D (Not on the forums, but you get the idea)

I wish I was one of them

ericj, thank you for responding. Now I gotta know, how does it feel to say that you grew up with the Nintendo even during its famicom days.

I think it's awesome that I can say that.

It's pretty amazing to discover so many great games I never knew about while growing up thanks to the internet. Since I grew up in Pennsylvania in a pretty rural area, I never even heard of the Famicom. In fact, it was less than two years ago that I even heard of it.

I think it's great that so many younger people like older systems and games. I remember how many of my peers were quick to jump on new gaming systems as they came out and subsequently stop playing the older systems. It seems like many of them have come back around to playing the older systems as they got jobs and were able to buy all of the stuff mom and dad wouldn't pay the big bucks for back in the day...things like the PowerGlove and ROB come immediately to mind.

I still enjoy seeing old advertisements and commercials from back in the day and remember when they were in the stores and on TV. It doesn't feel like almost 25 years ago, but I guess it was!  :P

I grew up with nes and game & watches. Then got snes and genny and so on and so on, hahaha. Ya, I'm a game nerd!

Don't be ashamed of it, I challenge you to find someone here to hates games.

I like them all.  However, I have fond childhood memories of playing N64.  I'm not going to vote.

Manuel,
If you mean in my post....
read that as :
"I personally have more games for the NES/Famicom than the SFC...but I have more RPGS for the SNES/SFC."
