hey guys I just wnated to make sure my famicom will work. I opened it up and saw that where the AC plug goes, it is just a little thing for the plug, then on the flip side of that circuit board, there are wires on the bottom of where it is going to this little gold colored thing. My question is, is this the original circuit board, and will it work? If so, how does it get the power? Thanks in advance!

Will you take some pictures? It will help us understand your issue.

We meant here.  There are usually lots of results for any one name on Facebook.  It'd be more of a convenience if you posted them here.  Just upload them to a site like Photobucket or TinyPic, get the URL, and put it in between

I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

sorry, I didn't have a real camera working at home so I took the pics from my friends DSi. I have a link to the album though... [http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=6558&id=100000044554777&l=0aa98d9296

what's all the stuff in this picture?  Looks like smoke?

No, it's just exceptionally dirty.

That mess of wires and the "gold thing" seem to be a replacement voltage regulator that somebody soldered on instead of the onboard one.

petik1

Other than that, can you see any other mods or anything wrong? ???

The resolution/quality is too low for me you tell you anything else about it :-\.

Sorry, like I said, I took the pictures on my friends DSi.

I actually have 2 Famicom replacement boards that are fully working if you need one.

Asking $35 + ship for one.

Thanks

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind when my Power adapter comes and if it doesn't work. ;D

Wait, does that mean the previous owner took out the LM7805 and replacit with this? I looked at it, and it is marked HA 17805. And could you tell me anything about cleaning circuit boards properly?

Indeed, my good sir.

A can of compressed air and a soft brush will do.

Thanks! The guy you sold me this is starting to get sketchy. I asked him if he made any modifications to the system, but he told me it was the original. But as you can tell from the pictures, he replaced the regulator and the RF out.  :-\
