Helllloooo! Drink, party and all that stuff for the holidays to come?

I recently got a newly dumped ROM image of an unlicensed NES/Famicom/Famiclone multicart. I was also given a custom emulator to be able to run the ROM, since it uses a specific mapper not yet supported by all NES emulators I know. Well, the multicart seems to basically work, but...

A lot of the games run EXTREMELY slowly and I do not really able to explain it...

First and foremost, is the providing of the particular ROM image not allowed here? Well, I registered here over 2 years ago to be honest I don't remember whether this is answered in the rules/topics for newbies, nor can I arse myself into it ATM TBH.

If it's allowed, I have the ROM image to show. I don't know if it's a matter of emulator issue or whether the ROM wasn't dumped correctly, which makes a lot of the games run "screwy" (ie slow as a crawl).

We have a no ROMs policy, because it's easier to enforce than a "this ROM is ok, this ROM isn't" sort of thing.  If someone were to PM you and ask for it, though...

Well, is there anyone would like to "PM"?

I guarantee it will be interesting :) It has plenty of new crap people haven't seen.

MS-DOS4

Sure, I would love to have a copy!

I would like it too. If you were to hypothetically do that, you may want to host it on a site like megaupload and provide a link to anyone who is interested that way through PM. :D

Thanks for sending that. I'm not sure why it runs so slowly. Someone who's well-versed in this stuff could probably figure it out. My guess is that it has something to do with the custom mapper support.

The emulator is some form of FCEU.  I tried switching from NTSC to PAL and back, but PAL only slowed it down more.  It's still horribly slow in NTSC.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

If your rom isn't on the CaH4e3's webpage  - http://cah4e3.shedevr.org.ru/ - try offering it to him. He is the creator of FCEUmm emulator.

Haha, it's kinda funny. He's the one who sent it to me, actually. But it seems he sent it to me personally, only.

I recall he had great difficulty with getting the game ROM dumped. I figure it must be an extremely hard one to crack. And in fact, the difficulty in dumping the ROM might have something to do with why it's slow.

And the ROM's current unplayability might have something to do with why Cah4e3 did not put it up on his site, yet. One could be doing him a favor by improving it up :D   :P

I will PM "many details and information" to you guys who asked about the game.

So, one question. Does the guy who dumped the game still have the copy of it? I wonder because I think a couple of the games may simply be pressing on the limits of the NES. Like the one game that has the backgrounds that scroll at different speeds. I don't really remember any NES game doing that.  I'll keep you posted if I have any luck with it. Thanks for it no matter what. It's an interesting curiosity. I really like the Panda Mario hack. Sort of weird that it starts at 6-1. The sprites though, they're very well done. I'd like to see a full version of it.

I did have a weird sort of... I dunno how to describe it, like some chunks of the video were staying stuck. I think it's the emulator. Avoid alt-tabbing while using it, and if you must, you have to move the window around to get it back to normal.

I really like this cartridge. Some of the games actually have a replayability factor. I'd definitely buy a real version of it if one was available.

Yeah, it seems cah4e3 has posted the new releases today sometime. The FCEU build he provided there actually makes the ROM run normally, but...

For you, botulismo, does the game "X-Plan" have real music issues?

botulismo

Oh, I see you replied. Ignore what I said if the emulator's fixed.

Yeah, I'm noticing like some sort of... Noisiness? It just seems like bass and noise. The sound effects seem a little skewed too.

Ah, thanks. So I guess I'm not the only one :)
