Anyone here a big fan of beat em' ups? I can pick up and play through Final Fight everyday, definitely in my top 10 games of all time list. The new generation of beat em ups get too crazy with all the 3D, just keep em 2D! I picked up Urban Reign for PS2 for 10 bucks and I heard "Beatdown" for PS2 is pretty rad, anyone else play these or is anyone else a big fan of the genre?

I think beat em ups were in their prime during the 16-bit era. I bought TMNT: Battle Nexus, somewhat of a brawling game for the GameCube, & it sucked. Even worse, the original arcade port (the whole reason for me buying that thing) was altered audio-wise. >:(

I sold it back, ruining my awesome streak of buying kick ass games.  I don't remember if I've ever done that with another game before. :-\

Well I haven't gotten my hands on any of the newest beat em' ups but I agree with final fight being one of the top 10 of my list as well. I bought it on ebay not too long ago. I just wish it was 2 players.

Oh man, arcade beat 'em ups are the best. I used to be really good at the X-Men Arcade Game, and TMNT IV for the SNES is just classic.

I remember that X-Men arcade. Wasn't it like 8 players?

I loved tmnt arcade game. Now I just once in a while play it using all the 4 turtles in that mame emulator lol and well sometimes I use kaillera.

This may be a strange one, but Simpsons. :D

If you're talking about that kickass arcade one, then it's not a strange one. :P

Jedi Master Baiter

Yes, that one. It's funny that there's a Simpsons Beat 'Em Up. :P

The simpsons beat em' up was awesome still have it on my computer. There was an arcade at the mall where I go every weekend but they closed it years ago. I would always go play that game there man wasting quarters never felt better in that game.

If you're into MAME emulation theres a TON. Theres a lot of really weird ones from Japan as well. "Crimefighters" was another favorite. If you download the japanese version though you'll find some stuff they took out of the american version, like animated risque backgrounds and an enemy dressed in leather motorcycle attire that will actually hump your leg if he gets too close to you (not joking)!

Yeah right. I wished I could've been at the Boomers/Fun Center Putt Putt whatever it was before it was taken down & turned into a massive Lowe's. I would've loved to get a hold of the TMNT: Turtles in Time arcade; I even saw it grouped with a bunch of other arcades that weren't in service.

At the swap meet there was also Marvel Vs. Capcom, & a 19-something shooter game.
