I'm sort of puzzled as to what it might be.  I glanced over the top 100 list, and for the life of me couldn't "see" what was missing.  No doubt, I'll slap my forehead when Satoshi Matrix reveals the #1.

Hey guys, sorry about the delay - I'm finally done! Here's the last entry in my top 100 NES/Famicom games list!

Here is what I consider to be unquestionably the best game on the hardware. Thanks for everyone who has supported me through this! Rest assured, I will be doing top ## lists for other systems in the future, just probably not right away.

me neither.  One of the top 10 nes / famicom games for sure...but not #1

I think #1 is subjective, but I consider Gimmick! a masterpiece and wouldn't put any other game above it.  SMB3 comes close, but it's not as polished nor as unique.

The whole list is subjective.

As I've said on the offset of each part, the NES and Famicom saw over two thousand releases worldwide. Narrowing that number down to even 500 worthy games is tricky, so you begin to see the problem of limiting it just to the top 100. My top 100 very likely is shaped different than most people's, and once you accept that you can appreciate it for what it is. The only thing I can say about my list is that I explain my reasons and stand by them. You are completely free to disagree, but opinions are opinions. This list represents the games I feel the strongest about.

Good to see a list with a more personal choice for number 1... literally every other NES/Famicom list I've ever read places Super Mario Bros. 3 at number 1.

Mario 3 is #3.

Megaman 2 is #2.

They're both fantastic games, but they don't have anything on Gimmick.

Gimmick is a fantastic game, probably the pinnacle of NES development next to Kirby's Adventure.

And Wall Street Kid is great, I got it for a buck back in the mid 90s from a rental store and played the crap out of it.
