I just bought this Mega Drive/Genesis -esque famiclone.

Has anyone else seen this one before?

LUCKY!!!!
hmm i never seen that famiclone before

manuel

I have never seen that one either. Looks neat and was cheap.
Make sure to post some pics and thoughts when you get it.

That looks nice, a nice different looking Famiclone  :).
Plant you, feed you, grow you like a flower, like NINTENDO now you're playing with power!!

MaxXimus

A pretty sweet famiclone. Does it say Sega on it? :S

I had one of those. Back in 2001 a friend was cleaning his closet and found an old 386 and two Famiclones. He gave them to me, one was a NEX-like and the other was this one. Both were burned out, but I could salvage the built in games from the Genesis-like Famiclone ;D. One weird thing about it was that it had a sticker on the bottom that said 'This unit only broadcasts on Channel 12' when all Famiclones I've ever seen broadcast on channel 3!

Needless to say, people around here tend to fry their Famiclones with incompatible power supplies >:(

Heh.

I'm sure the box has hilarious Engrish on it.

Also- How do you salvage the built in games?

Aren't they... built in?

133MHz

Well the box was in Spanish (apparently some kind of localization), and surprisingly, it was pretty good :P.

As for the built in games... Some Famiclones have their built in games in an auxiliary board, plugged into a secondary cart slot inside the system. If that's the case the only thing you need to do is remove the board and there you have it. I managed to salvage lots of good multicarts that way, with a large number of games and rare hacks/pirate originals. My next step is usually to transplant them into a crappy multicart shell for protection and ease of use. I've mentioned this here before, with some forum members having the same degree of success as me ;).

Neato.

Can you put real famicom game boards into the thingy, to play whatever games you might already have?

FamicomFreak

Don't know if I placed this photo but these were the latest pirate carts I got months ago.
