Wow, I had never even known about Mr. Gimmick until now. I guess I should go check it out.

Its a fun game. I recommend playing it, for sure.

i hated it, it was not a fair game.  and damn, i was a scary game.. especially when jason encounters you in the lake, when you are in the boat.
but because i played the game, i wanted to see the movie when i saw it in the videostore.
phew, many nightmares when i was a youngster :D

Remember my youth, the first game that comes in my mind is Little Nemo: The Dream Master, those were the days :'( The only concern was school :'(

Mario 8 just in case anyone forgot !

We sure did not forget, oh and hows it playing? I remember you finally got it, was the wait worth it? I bet it was.

AB Positive

While I had an atari and an NES growing up, it was the Genny that really cemented itself with me - mainly because I'm (one of the few) people that were introduced to RPGs with it. Shining in the Darkness was my first ever video game rpg and I obsessed over it - spilling over into Landstalker and Phantasy Star IV in succession. The summer before grade 9 I pretty much spent all my time with those three games. I'll always have a special place in my heart for those.

Of course after that came a re-connection to the nes - Final Fantasy... which led to getting a snes with FF 3/6. And then I was hopelessly lost.

I'm actually in elfland again in FF1 on my famicom - in japanese. I'm getting an eprom programmer off a friend and I have a uv eraser so I'm thinking of converting a couple rpgs to english (and scratching my tinkering itch) but FF1 will stay in nihongo - because hell, I can play it blind, I should be able to do it in japanese.
Just started the fami collection... want to finish a pulse line collection to start. :)

I played FF1 back when I first started learning Japanese. It thrilled me to be able to actually understand what was being said. It fueled my desire to learn Japanese, and was a great stepping stone considering there was no Kanji in that game. Good times.

It wasn't my first game but I have pretty fond memories of playing it during long, boring trips and such. Great music, and also the first Mario game done by Gunpei Yokoi (the inventor of the Game Boy) and not Shigeru Miyamoto (not counting SMB2 USA).

Pretty weird compared to other Mario games but I quickly got the hang of it and since it's kind of short it was always good for killing some time.

I had great memories with mario land as well especially the weird way the shells exploded and the egyptian monsters.....so kewl!
