It's rare because it was released in the final years of the NES and I think it was also limited releases. There is no doubt it's a good game.

I've seen it selling on eBay for around $100 so its certainly not cheap. Besides the high cost I'd like to pick it up for the blog but my main concern was that it isnt a very good game. I have the 1st and 2nd DW's both of which were a bit.....meh so I was hesitant with the 4th.

Well if you have any doubts you can always try and play the rom. I wouldn't mind owning DW4 because it's a rare cart itself and a good one by many. Back in the day the Dragon Quest series kicked Final Fantasy's ass in Japan so there really is something good about them.

Well I decided to give it a quick whirl on an emulator. I dont usually touch them as I prefer to stick to buying carts but at such silly prices I felt it best before deciding. Its actually quite entertaining and although I only managed about 30 minutes in I think I will be picking a cart up at some point.

I just saw this on some auction site.

Is this some kind of pirate version ?
*The box is too small but the text AND image do fit in
*It says "European Version" but the Nintendo Seal Of Quality is the american one, not the round european one
*The seal of quality doesn't appear on the cartridge itself.

Any Idea ? Ever saw something like this before?
Also how much would YOU pay for that?

Edit : in the description of the item it says
"NES-MW-EEC
EUROPEAN VERSION"

I got this top loading NES for 10 bucks on craiglist woot! I also got these two RPGs albert odyssey and magic knight reyearth for 15 bucks each. Pretty good deals in my opinion

10$ for a Toploader? Thats a great find! Still havent seen or found one of these consoles yet... by the way what's craiglist? :-[ :P

FamicomFreak

It's a site where people place ads on stuff they are selling. http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites there is the link and you have to pick your state or city to be able to find people in your area. Then just reply to their ads and bam! you got some nice stuff. Most of the time you have to go pick them up so be sure you have a car unless you are willing to pay them for delivery. I found lots of good stuff on craiglist including a saturn with 20 games for 20 bucks and a gamecube cib with 3 games for 50 bucks. Be careful with people trying to rip you off though.
