PC Gaming?

I was wondering, does anybody play any current PC games? I like playing some every now and then. Lately I've been playing Team Fortress 2, Left 4 Dead, Call of Duty 5, and Far Cry 2, among others.

I suck at Counter-Strike and Quake, which is what a lot of people play. My excuse? I grew up on consoles and only played educational games on the computer as a kid, so I never played those games while they were new. (And age restrictions) I built my computer in January and it's pretty good, so I've been playing mostly recent games.

I play Halo, Guitar Hero, and Spore.
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

quake 4 is hard for me online. I would probably do better if I had a better machine and connection. I also play doom 3 online a lot; though not as much as I used to. Since I got a ps3, I've been doing all my online fps gaming on it. I do have a killer mouse/keyboard combo on my pc: the Razer Copperhead and Tarantula! Ya, who wants to get fragged. lol, j/k. :D

The last time I did a lot of computer gaming, it was on an Apple one with eight inch floppies.

Ah, the good old days, when floppy disks were actually floppy...

I much prefer console gaming.  All the hardware is uniform, so your game is guaranteed to work.

Agreed. I never got into PC gaming even when I was a PC user. Too much work, too much money. I much prefer to just put the game in and have it run.

That's hardcore. The twelfth game will be released in August of this year. All of this is made by one man, the music, coding, graphics, everything.

Yo, I'm primarily a PC gamer. Lately I've been fussing around with Deus Ex but I try to get a good game of TF2 in every now and again.

I once bought Crazy Machines 2.  It didn't work.  :(

PC gaming isn't really that difficult, hardware-wise. Just buy good stuff that will last you a while. Most games aren't really that hardware-intensive, unless you want really good results. You can build a decent computer for a decent price, and not only will you have a platform for gaming, but for media, Internet, apps, work, etc...

Has anyone else seen the difference between Left 4 Dead on the 360 and L4D on the PC (all high settings)? The 360 version looks like a PS1 game. :D

Some of us don't have the money, space, patience, skills, or time to build or buy a computer.

That's understandable. In February of last year I went to a LAN party randomly, not knowing much about computers or the world of PC gaming... at all. I read up on stuff for the rest of the year and eventually learned what I need and how to put it all together. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to put together a computer, but there are some pretty nerve-wracking moments. All in all I'm glad I did, even though it did put me back quite a sum of money. ::) I needed a new computer anyway.

Also, PCs become obsolete surprisingly quickly.  Game consoles last longer.

That is the reason why I don't game on the PC.
Most games won't run properly on my machine anyways.  :D I don't want to mess with installs, settings and other tedious stuff. I like to "put game in, swicth machine on, play".

The PC has its advantages and so does a console. I'm not particular to either over another, but I do use my computer more. I just find it to be very versatile.
