It seems that many of us wear glasses. Maybe we can find a correlation between Famicom and eyesight? :P

I wear glasses since I was about 7 years old. I have myopia and astigmatism and my vision is considerably worse on my right eye.

I do not wear glasses. I guess I lucked out.

I have to wear glasses when driving.

Glasses.  Not contacts.  Raise your hand if you don't like the idea of sticking tiny little transparent easy-to-lose things in your eyes.

I've worn glasses for about 3 years now, though I should have gotten them much sooner. Have astigmatism in both eyes. Yes, contacts creep me out.

I don't think Famicom/NES is necessarily the cause of our bad eyesight. Probably more to do with growing up with those nasty old monochrome computer monitors that refreshed so slow you could see the flicker. x_x

I could never use contact lenses...

I don't believe in video monitors deteriorating your vision, and I have read studies backing up my belief.

My nearsightedness is caused by genetic factors. One advantage is that my close-up vision is excellent, and that's a huge advantage when doing stuff like electronics ;D

*raises hand... sort of...*

I've never tried contact lenses, and I don't like the idea too much (I'm very careless - I'd probably lose them or give myself an eye infection) but I'd like to get rid of my glasses.

Laser eye surgery gives me the creeps, not to mention expensive.

I don't think I could do contacts.  My girlfriend uses contacts, though, so I've gotten a bit better with the concept of people poking their own eyes.  I used to freak out a little whenever someone used eyedrops :-[

133MHz

Oh yeah... forgot about that aspect.
I can barely use eyedrops by myself. It creeps me out and I can't control my reflexes :-[

I've had glasses since I was six weeks old.  Beat that. 8)

How could they test you to find out how well you could see if you couldn't talk? Also, I wear glasses.

Yeah I'm interested about that too.
I didn't notice I had poor eyesight when I was a kid. My parents noticed it for me because I sat too close to the TV ::)
...and when I finally got my glasses it was like OMG HIGH DEFINITION VIBRANT COLORS AWESOME 3D etc etc ;D

Maybe that's it.

My mom noticed my eyes crossed severely...like way more than a baby's should...
So I guess she took me into an optometrist, and it turned out I was almost legally blind.  Over the years though, my sight has gotten better, and now my glasses aren't nearly as thick :P
