Yeah, I kept the bo until the end of the game. There's a practically impossible area with four of those spastic things that run back and forth, plus a couple of other annoying things on an uphill climb. I'd stop short of that, shapeshift into the bird, and just dodged all that crap to the end of the stage.

The final boss's first form is easy, but you already knew that. The second form is a huge pain in the ass. But I found that if I kill the first form at the far left of the screen, the second form will just walk all the way to the right without attacking. I got in three cheap shots when he first transformed (but before his spread-gun), got in three more hit-and-run shots while he walked to the right, jumped him and got two quick shots while ducking to finish him off when he started to attack.

Yesterday, I beat Mega Man 4 (NES). I went for a more relaxing run, so I allowed myself to use the special weapons. But I did play through the whole game without an E-Tank. I also finished with a full 9 lives. Gotta do something interesting once in a while to keep a familiar game a fresh experience.

Finished Castlevania III with Alucard.

Should I even bother playing it on 'Expert Mode' ? Translation: is there any redeeming factors? Different ending/dialogue? Not just it being harder?

I just beat The Terminator (NES) for the first time. I've owned this game since my early teens, but I haven't really played it seriously until this week. It's possibly the worst game in my collection. I try to keep only games that I really enjoy playing it, which means 95% of them are at least subjectively good for me. But between my fondness for the movies, and the fact that I've screwed around with this game for 20 years, there's just enough for me to almost-enjoy playing it. But man, this was a lot of frustration for a crappy, one-screen ending.

Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!! (NES)

14-0, 14 KO. I had a perfect, no-hit, 1st round TKO of Super Macho Man to win the World Title, then needed 3 rounds to TKO Tyson. Neither result was hugely surprising.

I kind of needed to go back to something familiar after another crash-and-burn on Firehawk. That game gets damned tough toward the end.

I knocked out Firehawk (NES) this afternoon. It's overall a very enjoyable game. It was only the second unlicensed game I've ever beaten, and the first by what is possibly the best unlicensed company: Camerica.

Alright, now I've really got to brag.

I just beat Tecmo Super Bowl with Green Bay. Not only are the Packers one of the weakest teams in the game, but I marched through the Giants, 49ers, and Bills to win the Super Bowl. I took a garbage team, and pounded my way through the three nastiest teams back-to-back-to-back to win the big game. (I crushed the Bills 39-13 in the Super Bowl, rolling up 32 unanswered points in the second half.) My regular season record was only 12-3-1, but I definitely feel good about the way I closed out.

Conquered Jurassic Park (NES) for the first time tonight. That's the tenth game I've beaten for the NintendoAge challenge this year.

Operation Wolf (NES)

I used the controller, but I successfully rescued all five hostages. I actually managed to play through the whole game without killing any of the innocent bystanders.

Just finished Dunk Heroes... for me, one of the best  FC games ever!!

Protoman

Resident Evil (PS1)

Got a bad ending because I didn't make a choice I didn't know I could make. Still, this is a great game from the time when capcom was a great company.

The last Famicom/NES game I beat was Megaman 2 (not the first time)
