I love Vinyl, but don't have a Record Player

I used to collect 'em. I had a few hundred -- everything music genre. Then... I liked my iPod more. Not as heavy to carry around.

Aw hell yeah! Vinyl collectors unite! Like others, I've got a lot of stuff so I'm not going to take pictures. Actually just refitted my system with some nice new speakers and it sounds soooo good. Seems that I hit that point where the 40 years of technology that was crammed into one small space decided to stop talking to one another. :P

Last week's find was good. Nabbed Led Zeppelin I, II, III, and IV for 20 bucks. It was a good day. :D

I just picked up Dream Theater's "Images and Words". So pumped about this one, its on of my favorite albums ever and the vinyl is not easy to come by.

I believe I still have a Space Invaders record kicking around, as well as another shooter-based LP. I'll have to dig those out and listen to them again, they're hilarious. When I get an Atari you can bet they'll be playing in the background.

Other than that I don't have a record collection to speak of, although I do keep my eye out for certain old 78s. If anyone ever stumbles across Layton and Johnstone's recording of Glad Rag Doll, let me know.

Oh! Got the Venture Bros. soundtrack on vinyl as a gag... it is unspeakably awesome. :D

Bumping this to shamelessly promote my record collecting blog. Just updated a few minutes ago with a really awesome 4xLP/DVD/Poster/Sticker release.

Going to buy more.   The record player I have needs to be grounded.
I also have some covers.

Don't worry Hades, I would've bumped this sooner if I remembered it existed.  I recently just caught the collecting bug.  As of this post, I own seven records, and they are:

Deadmau5- Ghosts n' Stuff
Deadmau5- Some Chords (12'' single)
Obie Trice- Rap Name
Jethro Tull- Aqualung
Jethro Tull- Heavy Horses
The Beatles- Abbey Road (not the recent re-release either.  Mine's the 1976 release.)
Flying Lotus- Pattern+Grid World

I don't have any local record stores, so I got most of these on Discogs.com.  Man, I've come to love that website recently.  My biggest wants right now are a few necessary albums like The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd, a few Zeppelin albums, and I also want to get some good metal and rap records.  I just don't know where to start! :D
I like to glitch old VHS tapes and turn them into visuals for live music events. Check out what I'm working on - www.instagram.com/tylerisneat

I do, But I don't have a Turn Table to play it on

Went out and added three more albums to my collection.  Today, I got Sublime's self-titled album (2xLP), Steve Aoki's I'm in the House EP, and my favorite record I got today, my first colored record, a teal-ish marble colored press of Red Fang's Murder the Mountains album.  Only 300 of my particular color were released!  I'm excited to listen to these! :D

Colored wax for some reason is just really cool isn't it? I always go for colored wax if I have the choice.

The Smashing Pumpkins put out painted vinyl for their newest release.  I still have no way of playing it, but it looks cool ;D

I have a Technics (SP-10) wooden-frame console and an Empire 598: I used to have thousands of LPs, and then, like a bonehead, I stored them in a non-refrigerated outdoor locker, and they all warped int he heat. Now I have a lot of ruffles crisps and only a handful of playable vinyl.. At least some of my Promo albums, such as my radio-station release of the first Elvis Costello & The Attractions album are still intact, mostly because they never left my closet.

Does anyone have any 'Blind Guardian' albums on vinyl?  :bomb:
