Hey everybody, I'm Rob. I got linked here from a picture from yahoo when I was doing famicom related research and here I am. I've gotten into famicom playing recently along with old games in general, so I got one and it's awesome. I am looking to get a disk system for my birthday which will be awesome.
Now you're playing with Power

Hey Rob,
Welcome to the forums. Fun place, lots of info. Good show on getting yourself a Famicom rig. Literally good times and fun and games!

FamicomFreak

Welcome bro I hope you can research a lot more interesting things involving famicom and share your findings with us. There is still so much we don't know about the Famicom's past.....

Hello, this is my first post and I thought I'd introduce myself.

I live in Japan and was in a "recycle" shop in Kitakyushu a few months ago when I found a complete Famicom in its original box for 1250 yen (guess thats about $12 US).  My wife had a Famicom when she was a kid in the 80s and I had an NES so I figured "why not, for nostalgia's sake".

I've got a few shops in the neighborhood that sell Famicom games for 200 to 300 yen each so if anybody has any advice on which ones are good I'd appreciate it!

;D

From your nickname I judge you're an English teacher, right? Welcome aboard.

That was a nice find and very cheap for a Famicom. Congrats on that.

For recommendations, just hit up the Famicom games section of the boards. There we have the top 25 games for example. All of those are good.
Look around a bit and you'll find lots and lots of recommendations.

Thanks!  I'm not a teacher (though I used to be), I just kind of like the name "Senseiman".

I'll check out the recommendations.  I picked up "Lode Runner" a couple of days ago and have been enjoying that!

Welcome to the forum sensei! I hope you enjoy your stay!

As for games I would recommend Rockman and the Super Mario Bros series. Also pick up some RPGs like Dragon Quest which should be real cheap over there as well as Mother and Sweet Home. There are tons of good games for the Famicom but I guess in the end, it depends on which genre you like the most. Take care!

Hello all, Names Rob
A Retro Collector from Ohio .
I'm the type who hunts down the past playables at Garage, Estate and Yard Sales along with any second hand shop that may catch my eye. I've had incredible luck doing so also.

On top of the Retro Gaming, I also Enjoy Drawing, Am a  Pro Wrestling Fanatic and have a deep interest in comics along with Horror Flicks..Maybe I just love to collect.  ;D

I hope by joining your forums to have discussions on the worthwhile Games and systems that should be added to collection. Learning more about gaming and just having a great time.

Feel free to PM about anything if you find the need to, I am very Open and ready to chat with any and all about the topics above.
