Just beat the original Super Mario Bros.

For the first time ever. I never did it as a kid. Well, that's something off the To Do -list...

That last world 8 castle is fun right?  Figuring out the order etc.

When you're done you get to do it all over again with harder enemies!

Well, I knew the pattern for that already. I've picked the information up somewhere over the years and still remembered it. I used warps when I beat the game, but I also played without warps a bit - I had no idea about Castle 4's (I think it was) mini-labyrinth so that took some retries. And for some reason I had a vague idea of Castle 7's labyrinth as well so I managed that on my first try.

I also know what weapons some Mega Man bosses are weak against, even though I've never fought them myself. This is the stuff my brain retains, but I need reminders and calendars to remember things like birthdays.

Now you get to play Super Mario Bros. 2! :D Oh the joy! ;)

I actually have RetroUSB's superb SMB2j cart, so I'll tackle that sooner or later. ;)

Wario's Woods Time Trials and Game A! I'm going to try to beat Game B in the next few days so I can claim total completion of the game.

Just beat Fudo Myouoden ( :redcart:) after being stuck on 3-1 for awhile! Why did they water it down so much for the western release (Demon Sword)?

I finally did it, I beat Akumajou Dracula:

I somehow managed to beat this the first proper go once I got to the throne room.  It seemed easier than on the GBA version, which I still haven't managed to beat, but will do shortly.

I know a lot of people have beat this game, but I never had this as a kid and recently really got into it after getting a cart from St.Jackie (thank you).  I'm going to keep and enjoy this for a long time, playing through every now and then, maybe I can clear the new game plus sometime too :)

Ah, you only got hit once I see. Well played L___E___T, congratulations. I beat a few games today...

Tiny Toon Adventures - First time playing this in a long time, forgot how much I loved this game
Bucky O'Hare - This one, too, I haven't played in quite a while, and I actually needed to use a couple continues on Salvage Chute.
Ningen Heiki Dead Fox
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

Tonight I beat Game B of Wario's Woods, to achieve total completion of the game! I actually kept playing until Game-Over, and actually reached all the way to level 113. (The game continues starting at level 100 after the credits.)

Nice one, I'll have to try that at some point.  I love the harder levels of puzzle games like Tetris and Dr. Mario on max. difficulty.

Yesterday I completed Akumajou Dracula GBA as planned.
Now playing through the new game+ mode which is really fun, it makes the first stage much more interesting and dynamic!

I found Wario's Woods to be more dynamic and difficult than Dr. Mario or Tetris. Either that, or I really suck at it. You should give it a go and let me know whether the game is that tough or whether I just suck at it.

I am a big Nintendo fan! especially GameBoy, N64, SFC, GC. And of course Mario games
I collect SFC/N64 mainly. Some rare famicom stuff too. Also miscellaneous video game stuff.

Ninja Crusaders (NES). What a frustrating game, but oh so satisfying to land that killing blow on the final boss. It was nice to yell at the TV in joy instead of frustration.

Congratulations on beating it at last! I'd guess you stuck with the spear weapon throughout the final stage?

Games I played today:

Don Doko Don 2
Choujin Sentai Jetman
Splatterhouse: Wanpaku Graffiti
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

Zeloz (akaBill)

I finally 100% Super Mario World a few days ago! In one sit-down too!

...and then the battery back-up died the next day.   :'(
