This post is barely video game related, but I'm gonna make it anyway.  I went to Omaha yesterday and got The Simpsons- season 11, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! -seasons 2 & 3, Donnie Darko on DVD, A 2'' Domo action figure (:P), and two bottles of Ramune...which looks different then what I used to get.

And...to make this post video game related, I got Sonic Pocket Adventure, Samurai Showdown 2, Fatal Fury: Contact, and King of Fighters- R2, all for the Neo Geo Pocket Color, which I don't have yet. :D

NGPC games:

What's wrong with this Ramune?  The bottle I usually get is in English, and all this other store had was Japanese stuff.  They also had mango flavor, which I hadn't tried yet. :P

If you peel off all the stickers, and clean the sticky residue with alcohol, then the cart will look brand new. :)

Jollie

no its one of those stickers that when you peel it off it shows that VOID thing like a blockbuster sticker and they are a pain in the ass to get off without ripping up the label.

You can still get them out with a lot of patience and some alcohol :P.

BTW I don't like Afterburner for the SMS, but the cart rocks because it's got a really kickass mapper that works with 99% of SMS games up to 512KB in size. You can put almost any game on it :).

Jollie

what games would you recommend for the SMS 133?
Great Fox will cover you.

133MHz

Games I recommend:

  • Sonic the Hedgehog 1 & 2 (awesome games that show the true power of the SMS)

  • Wonder Boy (awesome arcade conversion - better than the Famicom one! *gasp*)

  • Columns or Super Columns (like Magic Jewerly for the FC - pretty fun)

  • The Ninja (hard but fun)

  • Kung Fu Kid (like Kung Fu for the NES but longer, also fun)

  • Alex Kidd in Miracle World (the SMB clone for the SMS!)

  • Astro Warrior (nice shooting game a-la Star Force)

  • Penguin Land (fun puzzle/platformer with stage builder, good brain-teasing)

  • Teddy Boy (small fun platformer with catchy music)

  • Flicky (same as above)

If you have the Light Phaser get Safari Hunt and Shooting Gallery, especially the latter. The Sega light gun is ages ahead from the NES Zapper - pixel accurate, no flashing white rectangles! Shooting Gallery bears an uncanny resemblance to Wii Play's shooting mini-game! Really advanced stuff.

...and of course, Snail Maze! Best Game EVAR.

I'd like to see other members' favorite SMS games :).

Jollie

thanks ill keep my eyes open for those games. haha snail maze, as of now thats about all i can play on this thing, and i can only get to level 3!
