Woah. Going back 5-7 years, my grandparents had almost monthly blackouts, becuase of a bad transformer. The electric company kept fixing it and fixing it, but I guess the load was just too much. A neighbor saw sparks fly and some flame from it, but once they replaced it, all was well.

Also worth saying (I guess) During the Big Blackout in 2003, they and most of Buffalo didn't have power, but my block did. We used to live 3 blocks away. One street had power on only one side. Lots of extension cords going across there. 

Ive never experienced a brownout. For my power, its either on or off, no in-between.

Oh yeah, on topic, put some clothes in the dryer.

Well, I got a call from my brother saying Dad died in the hospital of cancer. I'll be out a few days.

Just felt 2 small quakes (I remember one more earlier), they say it was under the seabed, on the central region (seems like the crack was quite big as to reach here). I hope it doesn't take too long for the plates to settle themselves, I'm sleeping badly these days
