I actually played my first video games in about four days today. So naturally, I had to make up for lost time! I played a bit of Alien vs Predator and Doom (both SNES), some 007 and Bomberman GB (on the ol' Super Game Boy), and then I got back to working on Adventures of Lolo 3 and Mission: Impossible for the NES challenge. I actually beat the first and second missions of MI today for the first time.

Fire Emblem Kakusei

Hadn't really got into playing it until recently. Fire Emblem is as epic as ever!

I played some Mission: Impossible (NES) last night before bed. I'm getting close to beating the third mission, but this is definitely as tough as its reputation makes it out to be.

I never could beat that one.  Got to some stage with these slowdown-inducing claw hands that would kill you in one hit.  Couldn't get past them.

I think those claws are the last hazard before the boss in stage 1. (The stages are very long in the game.) I actually walked right past them on my one and only trip to that room, since I'd already disabled them by flipping their switch. It's very important to disable the traps with the switches, not that it's easy to find them.

I've played more Mission Impossible since then, and have since beaten the third and fourth stages/"missions." I'm making good progress on it, but it is brutally hard. Good thing it has infinite continues!

The claws must make another appearance later in the game, then.  I definitely made it past the first stage ;)

I'm now on the last stage of Mission: Impossible, and I have encountered the second appearance of those claws. (You were pretty close to the end, Joe.) The room with the flamethrower guys is kicking my ass. I only survived it once with one of my agents left alive, and he wasn't able to destroy the claws with his boomerangs.

I've also down to the last castle in Lolo 3 and played a few scenarios of Conflict (NES) last night as well. It's too bad my spring break is almost up!

It was Duke Nukem 3d, old version!! Many great memories!

I had a collector friend over today, and he brought with him a couple of Color Dreams games I'd never played before: Castle of Deceit and Operation Secret Storm. Both were pretty crappy, but it's still not every day that I get to play an NES game for the first time. And I'm always happy when I don't have to drop $50+ on a game to find out how terrible it is.

What's 'Rockman 2' ? Is it good?

Megaman 2. It is, in my opinion, the best Megaman game in the series.

Care to cite a few reasons why?
So ends another chapter in the glorious legend of the Ninja... Until next time...

Downtown Nekketsu Monogatari... amazing game!!

Played SMB3 straight through with my brother last night.  He wrote up a form, sort of like the type you use in that dice game Yahtzee.  You get points on his form for doing certain things, seeing certain rare enemies, getting certain items, etc.  Adds a new level to an alright excellent game, albeit a game that became waaay too easy years ago for us :)

I had a friend over, and we tried to beat Silk Worm (NES). Alas, after three full playthroughs, the best we could do was him reaching the final boss alone and with only one life. The boss seemed managable, but he still quickly made a mistake and it was all over. Maybe we'll get it done next time!

I'm currently on PC, getting into Skyrim, i can't belive how great this game is!  :o

I've played a bunch of Conflict (NES) the last couple of days. Not my idea of a classic, by any means, but I'm working through it for the NA challenge anyway. It helps that I've been sorting through my music CD collection, and this game doesn't require my full attention.
